NICKERSON — Three goals wasn't enough as 4A Nickerson outlasted Great Bend 4-3 in Thursday's non-league soccer game. 

Great Bend led 3-2 at halftime in a game played with a brisk 20-30 mph north wind. Ninth-grader Yulisa Valdez scored two goals after Mayra Ramirez converted Great Bend's first goal. Great Bend (1-8, 0-6 WAC) plays at Hays High (7-1-2, 3-0-2 WAC) Monday.

Madison Ontjes scored the game-winning goal with three minutes left in regulation for Nickerson (4-4). Madison Ontjes scored two goals and added an assist. Kieryn Ontjes scored a goal, Carly Smith scored a goal with an assist.
