Panther swimmers compete at Garden City

GARDEN CITY — Great Bend Panther Kale Mermis (2:39.84) finished runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle at the Garden City Swimming Invitational held Dec. 19.

Panther Mark Sperlein (1:20.99) placed runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly.

Great Bend's 200 freestyle relay placed third (2:05.72) with Matthew Williams, Randy Weber, Sperlein and Mermis. The Panthers' 200-yard medley relay (2:26.35) finished fourth with Logan Urban, Williams, Sperlein and Mermis.

Garden City (427) placed first and Great Bend (146 points) finished fourth.
