Volleyball substate scheduled

The red-hot Great Bend Panthers (25-9) coached by Shelly Duvall will ride a 15-match winning streak against Valley Center (16-17) in Saturday's 5A volleyball substate at 2 p.m.

Andover Central (24-10) will challenge Emporia (21-14) in the second semifinal. The two winners will vie for a 5A state volleyball berth.

Ellinwood, Hoisington, Macksville, St. John, Pawnee Heights and Stafford will compete in volleyball substates Saturday.

Winners qualify for their respective state volleyball tournaments.
