Panthers compete at regional tennis

GODDARD — Great Bend lost three matches at the 5A Goddard tennis regional.

Salina South's Brodie Garnett/Marcus Chavez defeated Panthers Jacob Parks/Aiden Stacey, GB, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) in a tight match. Parks/Stacey finished with a 2-3 record. 

Newton's Gavin Hadley/Adam Oswald defeated Panthers Kai Britt/Manuel Alva Gamon, GB, 6-1, 6-1 in their first varsity match as a tandem.   

Hays High's Ken Shaffer downed Aaron Ramirez, GB, 6-1, 6-0. Ramirez ended with a 12-12 singles record after playing doubles at the Western Athletic Conference tournament.
