St. John (6-1) placed Mia Meyer (15), Lydia Reed (13) and Gentri Bright (10) in double figures. The Tigers used effective pressure defense to keep the Cougars (4-3) off balance offensively. The Tigers led 31-12 at halftime.
Central Christian (4-3) was led by Belle Barnett with 13 points and Avery Kauffman with nine points off a trio of 3-pointers.

CENTRAL CHRISTIAN 60, ST. JOHN 51 — Central Christian's red-hot Piercen Huff scored 24 points and converted a pair of fourth-quarter steals for a hard-fought 60-51 non-league basketball victory over St. John Friday.
St. John (4-3) was sparked by Emmett Delp with 22 points and Quade Smith added 10 points.
The Tigers closed within 47-46 on Brody Vieux's 3-pointer and a pair of Delp free throws. Delp's basket with 3:16 made it 50-48. But the Cougars closed out the victory with a 10-3 scoring run.

Addy Pelton scored nine points and Lilly Cissell added six points for Pawnee Heights (1-6).

Eli Girk scored 12 points and Jase Rutherford added 10 points. South Central scored 20 points in the final five minutes of the second quarter.
Clayton Hammeke scored 11 points and Cody Holste added six points for Pawnee Heights. The Tigers performed superbly in the first quarter, trailing 15-14.

Esparza scored 12 first-quarter points. Hector Gomez scored 12 points and converted a trio of 3-pointers. Nolan Adams contributed 10 rebounds and eight points.

Central Prairie League member Macksville led 16-4 after one period.
Macksville's Isabela Ortiz performed brilliantly with 21 points, eight steals and four 3-pointers. Maria Garcia and Daniela Reyes each grabbed eight rebounds. Heidy Ortiz passed out three assists.
Maverick Taylor Bamberger scored 12 points and Kylee Reece added 10 points and nine rebounds.
