Wildcat softball downs Indians

HAVEN — Second-place Haven roared past Larned with 32 runs for a 17-2 and 15-5 sweep over Larned in Thursday's Central Kansas League doubleheader. Haven (10-2, 8-3 CKL) drops Larned to 7-7, 2-6 CKL.

HAVEN 17, INDIANS 2 (G1) — Haven's Sophia Faidley homered, doubled and drove home four runs with three hits. Haven delivered five extra-base hits. Mayzie Warden, Avery Brawner, Morgan O'Neal and Sierra Yoder each drove in two runs.

Larned's Eowyn Hedding scored on a first-inning wild pitch. Brooks Simmons scored on Jady Crosby's fifth-inning single.

HAVEN 15, INDIANS 5 (G2) — Haven's Faidley, Avery Brawner and Ella Bontrager each drove home three runs. Faidley and O'Neal homered. Haven delivered five extra-base hits. The Wildcats piled up 15 hits.

Larned's Karley Lemuz drove in four runs. Lemuz singled in Eowyn Hedding and Maya Wilson in the first inning. Jillian Hagerman doubled home Hedding in the second inning. Lemuz singled home Hedding and Wilson in the fourth inning.
