On Wednesday, May 24, Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt arrived in Ellinwood for a visit with CEO Justin Lear and members of the board of Eagle Mutual of Ellinwood. Eagle Mutual is one of 42 insurance companies domiciled in Kansas.

“Our domestic insurance companies are important economic drivers for Kansas and the communities they call home,” Schmidt said. Concerning the visit, Lear said, “It was a pleasure to host Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt for her visit to our office.

“Oftentimes our interactions with regulators are regarding specific filings, industry issues, or of a more direct regulatory purpose. This visit was without a specific need other than to allow for the open dialogue between our company and the Commissioner. We not only learn about what the Department is focused on currently but also converse about Eagle Mutual’s history, present, and future goals. More importantly though, we have the opportunity to share about the insurance needs we assist Kansans with throughout the state from here in Ellinwood.”
