In-person storytime with Miss Amy is back

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! I have a very exciting announcement to make regarding next week. For the first time in a long time, we will be hosting storytime in-person! Tuesday March 2 at 10:30 a.m. will be our first storytime back in person. Join Miss Amy for not just stories but fingerplays, rhymes, as well as the chance to get up and move with music and games. After storytime and throughout the week there will be “take and make” crafts to pick up that follow the theme of that week’s storytime. We are taking precautions to assure everyone can attend story time safely, masks will be required for adults, and storytime will be taking place in a very large room with assigned spaces to ensure social distancing.

We hope you are as excited as we are to have people back in person for storytime again. Storytime will be in person every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. through the month of March.

For teens, we will be hosting our Online Anime Night on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Teens 13 to 18 can join us via Discord to watch an anime of their choosing. To join in on our meetings, teens can use the code “gbmanga” on remind.com or in the Remind app, or text it to 81010 (standard message rates apply). Then send us a message with the words “anime night” to join the Teen Spot Discord server for our Teen Online Anime Nights and to discuss anime! We have an anime chat there for discussion, a place to share memes, or anime and manga related things. Teens can also suggest series they would like us to do next and we sometimes even play games with prizes.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and our website, greatbendpl.info, for upcoming programs and updates. You can also message us on Facebook or email us at gbcirc@gmail.com. We can also be reached at 620-792-2409. Hannah Grippin, outreach manager at the Great Bend Public Library.
