Children aged 3 to 11 who love fairytales can enjoy a camp full of creative expression led by the Barton Dance Theatre students from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 in the Fine Arts Building on the Barton Community College campus.
Tickets are $20 per child and $10 per additional sibling (up to three) and are available at shows.bartonccc.edu.
The camp includes classes taught by Barton Dance students in dance, visual art, tumbling, and acting. There will also be a snack and movie time at the end. The camp is a fundraiser for Barton Dance Theatre’s tour to New York City in January.
Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator and Dance Instructor Danika Bielek said she designed the fundraiser as a way for kids to enjoy being active while at the same time connecting her dancers with the community in a positive way.
“The dance students and I are looking forward to getting dressed up like our favorite fairytale characters and making creative things happen,” she said. “This is a great camp that gives parents a little break on the weekend while their children are having fun learning, imagining and being mentored by our dancers.”
