Student Library Assistant Madison Dombroski will focus on different Ellinwood High School seniors throughout the year to spotlight, and this will be featured in our Check It Out column. Today we have two Senior Spotlights. Featured Senior Spotlights are Alvin Bowyer and Damian Hoeffner.
Alvin Bowyer is a senior at EHS. His family members are Holly Bowyer, Brent Schartz, AJ Bowyer, Ashlynn Gray, BJ Bowyer, London Bowyer, and Jackson Bowyer. The book he would recommend is the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” because it is funny.
Alvin’s favorite quote is, “I am not here for a long time, I am here for a good time.” He says his greatest challenge was this school. His favorite class was Ag Mechanics Advance because he got to weld and make projects. Alvin’s plan after graduation is to go to Barton and graduate from their Ag program and go work on the farm. We wish Alvin a great year in his senior chapter!
Damian Hoeffner is a senior at EHS. His family members are Arlene Manning, Alicia Manning, Josh Hoeffner, Morgan Hoeffner, and Joslynn Hoeffner. The book he would recommend is “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” because it’s pretty entertaining and fun to read.
His favorite quote is, “Believe you can and you’re halfway there,” by Theodore Roosevelt. What Damian thinks that makes Ellinwood High School special is everyone knowing each other and being a close community. His favorite class is history because he enjoys learning about how we used to live back then, and he also finds things like World War II interesting. Damian would say his greatest challenge in school was procrastination, and not getting his work turned in on time. We wish Damian a great year in his senior chapter!
