Kiwanis recognize 185 years of service, induct three new members

Great Bend Kiwanis recognized three new members this week, and recognized five members for a combined 185 years of service.

Dr. Perry Smith has been a member for 46 years, David Holste has been a member for 45 years, Terry Turner has been a member for 33 years, Dan Soeken has been a member for 36 years, and Barb Esfeld has been a member for 25 years. Each received a certificate signed by President Vicki Schmidt, Secretary Joyce Corp and Kiwanis International President Paul Palazzolo.

The guest speaker was Charles Atkinson, president of the Barton County Fair Board. Upcoming programs include Kimberly Becker, founder and coach with Move Your Mountain Coaching and Consulting, on June 3; Heartland Center for Spirituality Co-Director Keith Funk, speaking about the Dominican Sisters of Peace, on June 10; Golden Belt Community Foundation Executive Director Jason Murray on June 17; and Great Bend Chamber CEO Megan Barfield on June 24. The club meets for lunch and a program at noon on Wednesdays at Walnut Bowl.
