STERLING — What happens when life shatters – and how do we begin to piece it back together? Sterling College Theatre explores those questions in Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire, the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama that finds both heartbreak and humor in the aftermath of loss. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 20 and 21, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in Culbertson Auditorium on the Sterling College campus. The production is directed by Stephen English, Technical Theatre faculty member.

Rabbit Hole offers a moving portrait of a family navigating the unthinkable. Becca and Howie’s world has been upended, and as they and their loved ones struggle to find balance, the play reveals moments of grace, laughter and quiet resilience amid deep sorrow. With its sharp dialogue and emotional honesty, Lindsay-Abaire’s story captures both the pain and the persistence of love.

The cast features Mariana Inchauriga, a junior from Hutchinson, as the boy’s mother Becca, and Philip Starnes, a junior from Wellington, as her husband Howie. Mary Little, a senior from Hutchinson, appears as Becca’s spirited sister Izzy, with Julia Facio, a freshman from Garden City, as their outspoken mother Nat and Austin Hewitt, a freshman from Hugoton, as Jason, the young man whose life intersects with the family’s in unexpected ways.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, available online at sterling.edu/arts or at the door before each performance. Due to the nature of the show, Rabbit Hole is not recommended for children under age 12.

With its blend of emotional depth and quiet hope, Rabbit Hole reminds audiences that even in life’s most painful moments, love endures—and healing, though slow, is possible.

Sterling College Theatre is dedicated to providing students with opportunities to grow in creativity, confidence and collaboration through live performance. The program emphasizes artistic excellence, teamwork, and the joy of storytelling, inspiring both performers and audiences alike.
