Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation announces its 2018-2019 scholarship recipients.
Tanner Blackwell, Hoisington, a sophomore at Kansas University, is majoring in Pre-Pharmacy. He is a graduate of Hoisington High School and the son of Jim and Anita Blackwell of Hoisington. Tanner will receive a $700 Jan Aylward Memorial Scholarship and a $500 Becky Nicholson Memorial Scholarship. A member of the Kans for Kids Family, Tanner is a survivor of leukemia (AML).
Kira Cook, Great Bend, is a sophomore at Fort Hays State University, majoring in Radiologic Technology. She is a graduate of Great Bend High School and the daughter of Darrin and Marlene Cook of Great Bend. Kira will receive a $700 Jan Aylward Memorial Scholarship and a $500 Becky Nicholson Memorial Scholarship. A member of the Kans for Kids Family, Kira is a survivor of a Wilm’s tumor.
Kans for Kids provides renewable scholarships to any child who has been assisted by the organization as they battled childhood cancer.
