The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.
It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:
• A discussion of the Revenue Neutral Rate and its impact on the budgeting process. Kansas Sen. Alicia Straub will join the meeting.
• The billing for the mailing of Revenue Neutral Rate notices.
• The emergency repair of a bridge across Cow Creek on NE 70 Road.
Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:
• 10 a.m. – Great Bend Economic Development Inc. update with Sara Hayden, president.
• 10:30 a.m. – economic development update with Bob Whetmore, Great Plains Development and Hayden.
• 11 a.m. – funding request with Mary Anne Stoskopf, secretary/treasurer, Barton County Rural Water District No. 1.
• 11:15 a.m. – project update with Don Mars, DMA Architects.
• 1:15 p.m. – Façade Improvement Grants for Forest Avenue Antiques LLC. and Hammond Inc.
• 1:45 p.m. – personnel discussion with Karen Winkelman, health director.
• 2 p.m. – request to release of requests for proposals for two diesel pickups with Darren Williams, county works director.
• 2:30 p.m. – regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, director of operations.
