Ellsworth truck driver injured on I-70

A truck driver from Ellsworth received what were believed to be serious injuries Monday when two semis collided on Interstate 70 in Saline County.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 10:32 a.m. on July 29, 17.7 miles west of Hedville  Road.

Two semis were westbound on I-70. The drivers were Yaotzhin Daniel Ramirez-Montante, 35, address unknown, and Ronnie Lee Hamby Jr., 46, from Ellsworth. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Details of the collision as reported on the KHP Online Crash Logs were unclear, but after one vehicle was rear-ended, Hamby was pinned in the cab. He was transported to Salina Regional Health Center. The other driver had no apparent injuries.
