GBPD arrests man for drugs, gun possession

The Great Bend Police Department arrested a 23-year-old man after a positive indication for narcotics by K-9 Menta during a traffic stop at approximately 4:47 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21.

According to the report, GBPD initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of Adams Street for an equipment violation. In the ensuing search, suspected methamphetamine and a firearm were located inside the vehicle. Driver Layton Brown, 23, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a firearm, no tax stamp, driving while suspended and illegal window tint. Brown was transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked in lieu of bond.
