Occupant of overheated vehicle arrested on drug charges

Officials were dispatched to Smokin Vape, 1807 Washington St., at 10:21 a.m. Tuesday for a report of smoke coming from a vehicle. Great Bend Fire Department reports the vehicle was overheated but not actually on fire. However, according to the Great Bend Police Department’s daily incident log, police were also notified because a subject was found passed out in the vehicle.

Traxler Denning was contacted and arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school (Jefferson Elementary is nearby), possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and criminal use of a weapon. He was booked into the Barton County Detention Center with bond set at $100,000. K-9 Menta was deployed to the scene.
