Wichita man arrested for attempted robberies at GB businesses

Great Bend Police arrested a Wichita man Thursday afternoon after the man allegedly attempted to rob several individuals at two Great Bend businesses.

According to a GBPD release, at shortly after 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Holiday Inn Express, 3821 10th St. Officers were advised a male had entered the hotel and attempted to physically remove and steal jewelry from a subject in the lobby. While en route to the area, officers were advised the man had left the hotel and was trying to take items from inside vehicles in the Sonic Drive-In parking lot. 

Officers located the male subject involved, identified as 25-year-old Marquez Lewis of Wichita. After speaking with Lewis, as well as witnesses and numerous victims, Lewis was placed under arrest for attempted robbery, and transported to the Barton County Jail.
