Bobby C. Maltby 1927 - 2021

Bobby C. Maltby, 93, passed away July 15, 2021, at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on December 24, 1927, at Tonkawa, Okla. to Clyde O. & Minnie E. (Burch) Maltby. He married Arbutus Ann Basgall on June 23, 1962, at Loretta, Kan. 

A current Great Bend resident, Bobby had previously lived in Midland, Tex. and Oklahoma City, Okla. He was an accountant for Atlantic Richfield and later BP, until he retired in 1981. Bobby was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was a very talented guitar, violin and banjo player. 

Survivors include, his wife Arbutus “Boots” Maltby of Great Bend; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Donna. 

A Rosary will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m., all at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu, MSFS and Father Terrance Klein presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the United States Navy. Memorials have been designated to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
