CONCORDIA, Mo. — Earl Krause, 86, Hays, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Good Shepherd Home in Concordia, Mo.
He was born May 13, 1937 in Emma, Mo., the son of Leo and Flora (Weber) Krause. He was a graduate of Holy Cross Lutheran School in Emma, Mo. and the University of Missouri in the class of 1966. On Feb. 6, 1960, Earl was united in marriage to Doris “Mitzi” Steinkuehler in Emma, Mo., and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Mitzi preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2021 He retired from Midwest Energy in Hays, Kan. and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays, Kan. where he was actively involved with donation drives and church finances. He was also a volunteer with Ellis County Cancer. Earl enjoyed reading, Mizzou Football and Basketball, their cats, laughing, and giving people that do not root for Mizzou a bad time.
Survivors include, son Brett Krause and wife Robin of Parkville, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter Carla Krause; six brothers Raymond, Roy, Wilbert, Edgar, Lester, and Ralph Krause; and three sisters. Irene Wodrich, Ethel Krause, and Edith Poese.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at Bethel Cemetery, Concordia, Mo., with Pastor Jacob Mueller of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, Mo. officiating. Earl was a huge Mizzou fan and the family requests that you wear your Mizzou apparel to the service. Earl and Doris “Mitzi” will be inurned together. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Council of Ellis County Kansas or to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hays, Kan. in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia, Mo.
