Linda Hoagland (nee Shaffer), 85, of O’Fallon, Mo., passed away with family and friends by her side in O’Fallon, Mo. on Aug. 31, 2025.

Linda was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, Don on July 9, 2025 after 63 years of marriage. Linda, beloved mother of Kevin (Nicole) Hoagland; sister of Karen Loyd and brother Larry Shaffer and was preceded in death by her son Eric Hoagland and her daughter Sabrina Gibbs; dear mother-in-law of Jeff Gibbs; treasured grandma to Kyle Gibbs, Lorelei & Shelbey Hoagland.

Linda graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. in 1976 and served as a teacher in the Excelsior Springs Missouri school district for 22 years. Linda enjoyed traveling, scrap booking and reading in her free time and loved being with her grandchildren.

Don and Linda moved to the Saint Louis area in 2000 to be near their children and grandchildren.

The family will have a graveside service for both Don and Linda on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. The service will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sun City, Kan.
