OTIS — Roberta ‘Ladine’ Hartman, 91, passed away peacefully Jan. 8, 2026, at Medicalodges of Great Bend, Kan. She was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Otis, to Abraham and Bertha (Kaiser) Hartman.
Ladine had a compassionate heart from the very beginning which paved the way for her to receive nursing training. She worked for St. Rose Hospital then CKMC as a registered nurse, putting her gentle, caring hands to work with many patients. Ladine was an Otis resident and was very active on the family farm and was a Trinity Lutheran Church member. She served as a Sunday school teacher, teaching the next generations the love of God. She relocated to Great Bend and transferred membership to Trinity Lutheran.
Survivors include her nephew, Steven Hartman and his wife Lisa of Port Neches, Texas; step-nephew, Paul Gomez and his wife Peggy of Nederland, Texas; niece, Lora Laird and her husband Clint of Nederland, Texas; step nieces, Mary Alice Thompson of Hazel, Texas, and Julia Allen and her husband Wes of Fort Worth, Texas; great-nieces, Kassie Riley, Tricia Trevino (Dave), Lyndsey Hartman; great-great nieces and nephews, Landon Riley, Brooklyn Riley, Lucas Riley, Abel Trevino, and Aiden Trevino. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Loren Hartman; sister-in-law, Henrietta Hartman; and step-nephew, David Gomez.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at Great Bend Trinity Lutheran Church with Chaplain Jeffrey Owen presiding. Burial will follow at Otis Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is available from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, with family receiving guests from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home.
