District should tap reserves
Public Forum.jpg

To the editor,

About 35 years ago Washington School was declared unsafe and needed to be torn down. That was an excuse to get new facilities for the students. Money was appropriated to tear it down. It sat empty for a while then a miracle happened and was all at once OK to be used again. They hope that you don’t remember that. The money was used in a different way. Now they want more money for the same building. How many times do we have to pay for the same dead horse. When you vote for the new tax it may not be used for what you think it will be. When they get your money it will be used for the same wasteful spending as before. They are going to want more high priced vehicles or more sports facilities or equipment. Very little if any will be used for actual education. How many times does it take for you to realize you are being duped.

Put them on notice that they need to live within their budget like the rest of the real world has to. If they are really concerned about the kids safety they can use money they have instead of buying their luxury play things. Use some of your money they have on reserve.

Aren’t you just a little curious how much they have on reserve. Just remember one thing, when you get the new tax it will never go away. One final thought, the money they are wasting on special elections would go a long way on actual needed things.
