DERBY – It's Julio Heredia's world. We're all just living in it.

Great Bend Bat Cat pitcher Heredia continued the Summer of Julio with four strikeouts in a dominating 13-1 victory over the Derby Twins Tuesday. Heredia has struck out 43 batters in 221/3 innings. Heredia (0.44 ERA) yielded his first earned run of the summer on Kyler Warren's RBI single.

Bat Cats starter Andrew McCarthy (4-1, 5.40 ERA) continued his solid summer with five shutout innings and seven strikeouts. McCarthy has 32 strikeouts in 30 innings.

Super-sub Tyler Stuhlsatz (.385) ripped a bases-loaded double and drove home four runs to spark an 11-hit attack.

Ian George scored in the second inning on a groundout. Kyler Horsman (.444) singled in Jhett Creel to start a 6-run fifth inning. George drove in Cooper Smith and scored on a wild pitch.  Kyle Walker singled in George. Walker scored on Kade Goeke's groundout. Creel singled in Joey Marker for a 7-0 lead.

Stuhlsatz doubled home George and Ponce's single scored Stuhlsatz in a 2-run sixth inning. Stuhlsatz's double scored Horsman, George and Walker and scored on a wild pitch for a 13-1 lead.

DERBY 5, BAT CATS 3 (G2) – Left-hander Stuhlsatz (2-1, 2.42 ERA) was one out away from extending a 3-3 tie when Derby delivered four consecutive hits for a 5-3 victory. Kade Sheldon singled in Caden Richards and Mitchell Birdsall singled in Sheldon.

Jhett Creel's seventh-inning double gave the Bat Cats the tying baserunner on-base, but Kyler Warren threw out Joey Marker at home to end the ballgame. Creel reached base four consecutive times with two walks and a hit-by-pitch.

Jesse Ponce scored on Kyler Horsman's first-inning sacrifice fly. Derby's Brayden Luikart delivered an RBI and Tyler Otts scored on an error for a 2-1 lead.

Cooper Smith drove home Creel with a 2-run third-inning homer for a 3-2 lead. Derby's Nolan Ganter singled in Warren for a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning.

Derby (22-10, 9-4 Jayhawk) drops the Bat Cats to 18-14, 6-8 Jayhawk entering Thursday's home game against Liberal.
