Great Bend's Cailee McMullen placed fifth (47-47—94) to earn first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors at Tuesday's tournament at Stoneridge Country Club. Teammate Kaylee Reiser (52-49—101) tied for 10th and lost a scorecard tie to finish 11th. The Panthers compete at 5A regionals Monday at Salina.

The wind blew 25-to-30 mph from the south, creating challenging playing conditions. Players had to battle into the wind on several holes and faced crosswinds on other holes. The Panthers finished third (406) behind champion Garden City (371) and Hays High (377).

Cailee McMullen finished 1st-team All-WAC and Kaylee Reiser was All-WAC Honorable Mention.  The seniors earned All-WAC honors the past two years.

"The wind made scoring difficult today and overall, scores for the players were above their average," said Great Bend coach Travis McAtee. "Overall, we were pleased to finish third today and in the season-long WAC standings."

Garden City's Alyssa McMullen shot 37-42—79 to capture medalist honors and the overall WAC title to earn Player of the Year honors. Hays High's long-hitting Taleia McCrae placed runner-up (47-40—87) and Garden City's Grace Yi placed third (48-41—89).

In the junior varsity division, Great Bend's Grace Rowland (56) placed fourth overall.
