Medalist sparks Panther bowlers

GARDEN CITY – Great Bend Panther Bryce Moore (736) earned medalist honors as the Panther bowlers rolled past Garden City’s boys 9-2 in Tuesday’s Western Athletic Conference bowling dual.

Moore posted the three best games of 269, 235 and 232.

The defending Western Athletic Conference champions scored a 3,011 total with a 2,462 series and 549 Baker score. The Panthers swept the series, 798-777; 833-723; 831-744; and won a Baker game 190-162.

Runner-up Ashton Ensley (573) was followed by fourth-place Dalton Dicks (564); sixth-place Evan Shell (537); eighth-place Corbin Stanley (526) and ninth-place Dalton Murphy (518).

Great Bend’s Paige Wagner (559) earned medalist honors with games of 194, 184 and 181.

The defending WAC girls champion Garden City swept past the Panthers 9-2. Garden City swept the series, 710-202; 717-583; and 778-601. The Panthers salvaged two points with Baker wins, 177-160; and 204-189.

Other Panther finishers were sixth-place Nichole Griffin (468); seventh-place Lexy Fox (458); 1oth-place Zues Garcia (398); 12th-place Emma Mayhill (365); and 13th-place Kristy Wittig (356).
