Oilers' tennis wins home tourney

CLAFLIN – Central Plains Oiler No. 1 singles Peyton Ryan and No. 2 doubles Nethan Cauthon/Alden Metro placed first at Monday's Claflin Tennis Quad. The Oilers (27) won the team title ahead of runner-up Meade (12) with winds blowing from 20 to 40 mph. 

Two-time state runner-up Ryan (3-0) downed Sterling's Jace Darnauer 8-0 for first place.

Cauthon/Alden Metro (3-0) defeated Salina Sacred Heart's Ben Disberger/Lucas Adami 8-5 for first place.

Meade's No. 1 doubles Orvin Duck/Sam Lynn defeated Oilers Paxton Dody/Peyton Dody 8-2 for first place.

Meade's No. 2 singles Andres Sanchez defeated Oiler Camden Stiles 8-0 for first place.
