Great Bend Chamber members and the local business community are invited to help spread holiday cheer by donating promotional items for this year’s Trail of Lights tour through the zoo.

The Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau – Explore Great Bend – is preparing swag bags for the first 1,000 guests, giving businesses an opportunity to connect with visitors and community members during one of Great Bend’s favorite holiday traditions. Bags are distributed from the visitors’ booth at the Trail of Lights entrance into the Brit Spaugh Zoo off of Williams Street.

This year, children from the Barton County Youth Crew – a Central Kansas Partnership program – will assemble the bags, adding a special community connection to the effort.

What can businesses contribute?

  • Coupons or special offers
  • Stickers, magnets, pens or other branded giveaways
  • Business cards or promotional materials
  • Information about upcoming events or holiday promotions
  • Other small items that fit inside a swag bag

All contributions are requested as free donations to the CVB. Items can introduce someone to a business, encourage a return visit and showcase what Great Bend’s local business community has to offer.

Deliver donations by Friday, Nov. 6, to Explore Great Bend / Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau, 3111 10th St., Great Bend, KS 67530.

For more information, contact Amanda Gaddis, CVB director/Events Center manager, at 620-792-2750 or agaddis@greatbendks.gov to coordinate a donation, discuss quantities or ask what items would work best.

The goal is to fill the bags with local pride and give Trail of Lights guests something special to take home.
