Student Library Assistant Madison Dombroski will focus on Ellinwood High School seniors throughout the year to spotlight, and this will be featured in our Check It Out column. Today’s Senior Spotlight is Emma Clemons.
Emma Clemons is a senior at EHS. Her family is Jared, Megan, and her sister Klaire Clemons. Emma would recommend the book, “Tuesdays With Morrie,” by Mitch Albom. She loves this book because it makes her cry at the end every time, and it also has made her realize that there is so much in life that she does not appreciate enough, like her family, friends, and what the world has brought to her.
Her favorite quote is, “Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too even when you are in the dark. Even when you are falling.” – Morrie Schwartz.
Her favorite teacher is Mr. Wittenburg because he is very funny and always energetic. He also is good at helping out when you need help. She also likes to keep him stocked up on Cherry Lifesavers. Her advice for incoming students would have to be to “Keep up on your schoolwork and turn stuff in on time. It really helps you out in the long run and for the future; I’ve learned the hard way. Also, don’t give up on what you love to do, if you have a favorite subject or hobby, keep doing it and never let anybody ruin it for you!”
Emma’s plan after graduation is to get her general education done at Barton, and keep looking for a mortuary school unless she’s gotten a scholarship to one before she graduates. “And then live the life I want and love.”
We wish Emma a great year in her senior chapter!
