LARNED — Jake Gill is excited to be coming back to Larned for a concert performance during Santa Fe Trail Days, in tandem with the Larned High School All-School Reunion Memorial Day weekend.

The concert is slated for 8 p.m. Friday, outside the Breakroom Bar & Grill at 423 Broadway.

Gill, a native of Sylvia in Reno County, attended Larned schools for six years of his childhood. “I am excited to be a part of such a great event for Larned,” Gill noted. “We are anxious to continue our mission in aiding a great non-profit organization and putting on a high-energy show.”

Over the past four and a half years, Gill has raised tens of thousands of dollars for ChildFund International, a non-profit organization that provides clothing, shelter and education for children in the U.S. and around the world. Its mission helps children living in poverty have the capacity to improve their lives and the opportunity to bring lasting change to their communities.

After a whirlwind tour across the country in 2021, Gill has a lot to celebrate. His much-anticipated fifth studio album, “Maverick in Me,” has landed his sixth song on the Music Row Breakout Country singles chart. “If Jesus was a Cowboy” is quickly rising with 150,000 streams weekly. “Baby I’m On It” continues to be a crowd favorite and is on course to be his first certified gold single.

Gill, who pursued a career in health care after college, became a chiropractor with a practice in Hutchinson. His roots in music, however, led him back to the stage and the guitar he first learned to play in high school.
