Constance ‘Connie’ Lea Weiser

Constance ‘Connie’ Lea Weiser, 77, passed away Nov. 14, 2025, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kan. She was born June 9, 1948, in Great Bend, to Lawrence and Leona (Beck) Weiser. 

Connie received her bachelor’s in music education from Marymount College in 1970, and taught at Jennings, Great Bend, Schulte, Downs, and Claflin before retiring in 2005. She provided private lessons to students and was an accomplished musician, being versed in many instruments. She served St. Patrick Catholic Church and First Christian Church as an organist. She volunteered her time during the summer teaching at Riley Elementary. She had a compassionate heart and took care of both her parents until their passing. 

Survivors include her sisters, Linda Barnes of Wichita, Patricia Harbaugh of Lawrence; brothers, Don Weiser and his wife Lynne of Salina, Michael Weiser and his wife Lexie of Salina, Kent Weiser of Emporia; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dachshund Poppie. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Bill Barnes; and precious dachshund Peanut.

Services are pending at this time with Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Harry Hynes Hospice, First Christian Church, or Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
