Glen Arnold Huddleston

LARNED — Glen Arnold Huddleston, 76, passed away Sept. 13, 2024 at Diversicare of Larned.

He was born Nov. 30, 1947 the son of Urban Iru and Clara Anna Boese Huddleston. A lifetime area resident he was a Kansas Department of Transportation Supervisor and a reserve police officer. He served in the United States Army Reserve and was Honorably Discharged as a Drill Seargent.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Great Bend, the men’s Bushton Bait House Bible study group, Apache Bowling League (Glens Gun Shop Team) and one of the last charter members of Fort Larned Arms Association. He enjoyed drag racing, hunting, fishing, camping, trap shooting and restoring old Ford Mustangs and taking them to car shows.

On April 19, 1968 he married Cyndee Smith in Larned. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Mic (Sandy) Huddleston, Pawnee Rock, Kan.; one daughter, Michelle (Lee) Hillery, Winona, Kan.; one sister, Sherry (Charlie) Dehaan, Hays, Kan.; six grandchildren, Cody (Annie) Huddleston, Great Bend, Kan., Kade (Haylee) Huddleston, Great Bend, Kan., Kelsie Baxter, Great Bend, Kan., Katie Hillery, Idaho Falls, Idaho., Austin Hillery, Oakley, Kan., Clare Hillery, Winona, Kan.; and four great grandchildren, Charley Rose, Ford Michael, Kason, and Kouper. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2024 at Assembly of God Church, Great Bend with Pastor Jake Newman presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with family present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Glen Huddleston memorial fund, in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O.
