Ellinwood 52 and counting

ELLINWOOD — No. 1 state-ranked 2A Ellinwood defeated Victoria, 25-12, 25-10 and Plainville, 25-14, 25-10 in Thursday's volleyball to run their state-best winning streak to 52 matches. Victoria defeated Plainville, 25-22, 25-20 in the third match.

"One of our goals Thursday was to be more aggressive on attacks and serving," said Ellinwood coach Greg Maxwell. "I was pleased with the attacking mentality. Our setters gave us a lot opportunities to score. We had too many service errors, but that’s to be expected when we increase the aggression."
