HOISINGTON — Beloit snapped a 3-3 tie with two runs for 5-3 victory over Hoisington's softball team Monday. The Trojans won the nightcap 9-4.

Beloit (11-9) drops Hoisington to 14-8, 10-4 CKL.

BELOIT 5, CARDINALS 3 (G1) — Beloit's Colbi Stroede scored on an error and Addyson Channell scored on Samantha Thompson's eight-inning single off pitcher Brynn Tarlton (8-5, 3.56 ERA).

Marly Brewer's single scored Brynn Tarlton with the tying seventh-inning run.

Beloit's Karlie Smith scored on a passed ball and Stroede scored on Channell's single for a 2-0 lead. Avery Riese scored on Tarlton's single and Macie Strong scored on a Brewer sacrifice fly for a 2-2 tie.

Beloit's Brandy Porter scored on an error for a 3-2 lead.

BELOIT 9, CARDINALS 4 (G1) — Aubree Martin (5-5, 5.87 ERA) was tagged with the loss.

Hoisington's Kelsi Maier (.314) singled home Brewer and Reese Vaughn. Reece Aylward (.379) singled home Maier.

Beloit's Smith, Stroede and Samantha Thompson each drove home two runs.
