Panther golf finishes 7th at Hays

HAYS — Great Bend's 14th place Nash Lindberg (84) led the Panthers at Monday's Hays Golf Invitational in 84-degree weather with 20 to 35 mph southerly winds.

The Panthers also counted scores by 28th-place Cal Schartz, 90 (47-43); 31st place Ethan Somers, 91 (48-43); and 39th-place Alec Premer, 93 (49-44).

Schartz birdied Nos. 5 and 13 and Ian Premer birdied No. 14.

The Panthers (358) placed seventh behind team champion Hays (323) and Dodge City (337) at Smoky Hill Country Club.

Liberal's Kale Miller (77) earned medalist honors by playing his final seven holes at even par.
