Panther wrestlers rally for 36-34 win over Dodge City

DODGE CITY — After losing five consecutive matches, the unranked Great Bend Panthers won seven of nine matches to edge Dodge City 36-34 in Tuesday's Western Athletic Conference wrestling dual match.

The Panthers' trio of Brady Mendez (190), No. 4 5A ranked Trenton Kern (215) and Josue Bustamante (285) closed out with wins to secure a 36-34 victory.

Earlier, Panthers Cal Schartz (138), Trevin Maciel (144), No. 4 ranked Triston Tomlinson (157) and Aiden Stacey (165) posted wins that were critical in the 2-point victory. Each team earned seven victories.
