HOISINGTON — Laura Ann Urban, 50, passed away on Sept. 29, 2026, at her home in Hoisington. She was born on June 25, 1976, in Hoisington, Kan., the daughter of Steven and Diane (Bohnenkamp) Henry. She grew up in Hoisington, Kan. where she lived all her life. She graduated from Hoisington High School in 1994.

On Sept. 30, 1994, she married Kelly Urban. Together they built a life and family that she cherished. She was the proud mother of four children, Avery, Landen, Jenna and Kadence. Laura spent much of her early motherhood running a daycare spreading her love to many children. One of Laura’s greatest joys was watching her children do the things they loved. Sports were a big part of their lives. Whether high school or college sports, Laura rarely missed an opportunity to be there watching and cheering them on. Some of her happiest moments were spent in the stands proudly supporting her kids. She was also a proud Marine mom, supporting Avery through the six years he served.

Anyone who knew Laura knew the size of her heart. She deeply and genuinely cared for the people around her. That same compassion was shown to animals of every kind. She loved all animals but had a special place in her heart for dogs. Everywhere Laura went there was always a dog, or three, following right behind her. Their trust in her speaks to the kind of person Laura was. She had a pure and loving heart that could be felt by everyone around her.

Above all else Laura loved her family. She leaves behind so many who will miss her more than words could ever say.

Laura is survived by her husband Kelly Urban of the home; her children, Avery Urban of Topeka, Landon Urban of Hoisington, Jenna Urban of Topeka, and Kadence Urban of Wichita; her parents, Steve and Diane Henry of Hoisington; brothers, Jake Henry of Hoisington; brothers-in-law, Kent Urban (Heather) of Hutchinson, Kirk Urban (Amanda) of Great Bend; and sister-in-law, Kenna Urban (Corey Mercer) of Great Bend; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, LaVon Urban.

Friends may sign the book 1-8 p.m., Sunday, with family to greet friends from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 5th, 2026, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery.
