HAYS — Linda Lou Plowman, 82, passed away peacefully on Nov. 19, 2025, at Country Living of Larned, Kan. She was born in Lawrence, Kan., April 17, 1943, the daughter of Albert and Edith (Denewiler) Floro.

Linda married George T. Plowman Aug. 10, 1963, in Lawrence. They were blessed with three children. She worked as a medication aide for Great Bend Manor and then Cedar View until her retirement. Linda loved children and being very involved in the community, and it showed in her volunteering. She served as a homeroom mother at Lincoln Elementary and various other activities, helping children in their education. She was a 4-H leader for the City Slickers group and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a faithful member of Church of Christ where she served as a teacher, assisted with funeral dinners, and additional church activities. 

Linda was a very gracious hostess of events and was extremely hospitable. She let God’s light shine through her in her kindness, giving, compassion, and big heart for others. She loved collecting “I Love Lucy” memorabilia, and movies of various genres, whether they were VHS or DVDs. In all her accomplishments, her greatest was her faith, marriage, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, George T. Plowman; son, G. Kevin Plowman and his wife Mary of Lawrence; daughters, Patti Kasselman and her husband Mike of Great Bend, Penny Lawson and her husband Doug of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Derek Plowman (Melissa), Sarah Plowman, Amber Lucchesi (Nick), Kacee Kasselman (fiancé Marcus), Mercedes Ryan (Jacob), Branson Hoffman, Brianna Hoffman, Catera Morey (Tucker); and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jim Floro.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home with Bill Buggeln presiding. Visitation is available from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Private burial will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at Lawrence Memorial Park, in Lawrence. Memorials have been designated to the Great Bend Church of Christ, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
