To the editor:
In a recent news article the Barton County Sheriff’s Department commented that they have had not one complaint about the use of “Flock” cameras in Great Bend.
The use of these license plate reader cameras, in my opinion, are a violation of our 4th Amendment rights to privacy and freedom from illegal search. These cameras take our information without our permission and send it to a database for whoever wants to search our private information without our permission.
There are many towns who have used these Flock cameras who are having a change of heart about their use because they have seen that they go against the public’s right to privacy policies.
There have been instances of abuse of these cameras also. Just google it.
