HOISINGTON 28, GARDEN PLAIN 12

GARDEN PLAIN — Hoisington's versatile Kolter Hahn delivered a triple threat with two rushing touchdowns, a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the Cardinals' 28-12 victory over 2A Garden Plain in a battle of veteran state-ranked playoff teams.

The Cardinals converted two touchdowns after the Owls (6-2) handed them the football inside their own 35-yard line on errant snaps. Hahn scored on a 17-yard run after the first miscue. Preston Merlau caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Hahn for a 22-0 halftime lead.

In between those two scores, Hahn scored on a 41-yard touchdown scamper. Hoisington's backup quarterback Colton Staudinger completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Hahn for a 28-0 lead.

Hahn rushed for 114 yards and caught two passes for 63 yards. The Owls rushed for 139 yards and passed for seven yards.

Leading tacklers were Corbyn Holinde (13 assists); Drew Hekele (10), Brody Corbett (10), Logan Cossel (8) and Parker Turner (8)

Garden Plain salvaged some respect when Jaxx Dreiling scored on 3 and 31-yard touchdown runs.

The No. 4 West seed Hoisington Cardinals (6-2) will play Clay Center (2-6) Oct. 30 in the 3A playoffs.
