BURRTON -- The Chase High School volleyball team defeated Burrton 25-18, 25-10 Thursday to snap a losing streak of more than 50 matches.

Chase's key contributors are Natalie Kendall-Hixson, Alyssa Beavers, Hailey Beavers, Addison Kleinsorge, Emmabelle Bowen, Kenya Campuzano and Akira Koppa.

The Kats are led by coach Grace Faltysek, who received the KSHSAA Spirit of Sport Award last year for her commitment to leading her athletes the right way, with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship and competing with character.

Faltysek said the team has focused heavily on serving, passing and mental toughness. Faltysek said with all four grade levels contributing it gives the Kats a reason to be excited.
