NESS CITY – Ellinwood’s softball team (6-12) swept a wild doubleheader 16-12 and 15-11 over Ness City in a pair of high-scoring shootouts. Ellinwood pitcher Bennett Jacobs yielded 23 runs, but earned a pair of wins.

ELLINWOOD 16, NESS CITY 12 (G1) – Ellinwood’s Emma Nienke led a 16-hit attack with four hits, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Shyria Quintana and Kadie Bailey each drove in two runs.

Kennedy Behnke, Morgan Shinliver, Keighyn Dombroski, Reese Stickney and Kyndal Moore each drove in a run.

ELLINWOOD 15, NESS CITY 11 (G2) – Ellinwood rallied from an 8-2 deficit. Keighyn Dombroski drove in four runs ina 16-hit attack. Jacobs and Shinliver each drove in three runs.

Quintana drove in two runs. Behnke and Reese Stickney each drove in a run.
