Panther swimmers qualify for state

NEWTON — Great Bend's Meredith Mazouch placed third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:17.03) in Thursday's Newton Swimming Invitational.

State swimming qualifier Clarise Snapp placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:24.9). Josephine Mazouch placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (28.35) and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.7).

The Panthers (124.5) placed seventh.
