DODGE CITY — Great Bend played without standout tailback Cal Schartz when backup Christian Alcala filled in capably.

Dodge City will face a similar challenge with starting quarterback Reid Ochs apparently sidelined with an injury. Ochs has thrown for 415 yards and three touchdowns. Isai Reyes will replace Ochs.

Two-time defending WAC champion Great Bend (4-0, 1-0 WAC) has won 21 consecutive regular season games. Dodge City (2-2, 0-1 WAC) lost 17-14 to Liberal last week.

Great Bend is averaging 200 yards passing and 177 yards rushing.
