Great Bend's girls focused on team relays and earned 5A state consideration times with season-best times in the 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays at the Barton Cougar pool.
The strategy of Great Bend girls swimming coach Lauren Jordan worked to perfection.
The first-place 200 freestyle relay (*1:56.94) raced with Sydney Piland, Emma Beahm, Emma Snapp and Meredith Mazouch.
The first-place 400 freestyle relay (*4:24.84) competed with Piland, Braylee Carper, Snapp and Mazouch.
The runner-up 200 medley relay (*2:11.62) competed with Mazouch, Beahm, Snapp and Piland.
Runner-up medals were earned by Hadley Gregg, 200 freestyle (2:34.75) and Piland, 500 freestyle (6:53.3).
Great Bend placed fourth with 249 points, 114 points in the three relays.
