Ribbon cutting today for new lift and ramps

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have a very exciting day planned. Today, April 30, we have a ribbon cutting at the library for our new lift and ramps that we recently put in. Please join us at our north entrance in front of our new lift around 10:15 a.m. to celebrate this exciting milestone.

Later this evening we have Seinfeld Trivia at Dry Lake at 7 p.m. Grab a team or try your luck solo. Even if you’re not a Seinfeld superfan, why not stop by to enjoy a drink and see what you can learn about the show about nothing?

Friday is the first of the new month, so that means it’s time for our Adults’ Night Out Movie. May’s film is the winner for Best Motion Picture in the Drama category at the 2026 Golden Globes. Its story follows William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes, after the tragic loss of their son, Hamnet. In an effort to find a way to cope Shakespeare writes his epic, Hamlet. The north entrance will open at 6:45 p.m. and close at 7:15 p.m. We will of course as always have free popcorn.

Saturday, we have the perfect Cozy Craft to get ready for Mother’s Day next weekend. Join us to turn coffee filters into beautiful centerpieces! These are a perfect way to spruce up your space and make great Mother’s Day gifts. This program will be from 1-2:30 p.m. for tweens, teens, and adults (grade 3 - adult).

Tuesday will be Tech Tuesday as always at 11 a.m. We would also like to wish all those celebrating a Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Last but not least, next Thursday, May 7, we will have our next installment of Delicious Dishes with Chef Lisa. This time she will be teaching us to add a little zest to a beloved classic with gourmet grilled cheese sandwich recipes. If you’re half the fan of fancy cheese that I am, trust me, you won’t want to miss this one!
