This week’s Great Bend Chamber of Commerce Coffee was hosted by Avast Ye Java at the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce. Adryana’s Mexican Food Truck provided breakfast burritos and sandwiches for attendees.
Charles Fitz, owner of Avast Ye Java, spoke about his mobile coffee business that operates throughout Great Bend and surrounding communities including Larned, Stafford, Ellsworth, Ellinwood, and Hoisington. The business serves Grind Head Coffee from Chattanooga, Tennessee, using Caribbean-sourced medium-dark roast coffee.
“There’s a lot of things I can do being mobile,” Fitz said. “We can do hospitals, schools, community events, fundraising, private-label coffee for businesses, customer appreciation events, weddings, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and more.”
Fitz said the business also offers lemonade, chai, and energizer drinks. He noted that he is often booked two to three months in advance and already has events scheduled through December. He discussed possible future expansion, including another truck or eventually a brick-and-mortar location.
He also highlighted the company’s coffee subscription memberships, including the Java Club, which offers discounts and monthly free drinks for members. Fitz encouraged the community to continue supporting small businesses by sharing and promoting them on social media.
