STAFFORD — Three hundred fifty new books were provided from SCKLS Rotating Books and many new books are being delivered everyday! Books for all ages. Come to the library and see all the great things going on.

Recently Read book group will be meeting Tuesday, July 22 at 5:30 p.m. We have someone new come each month and we have all enjoyed the evening of talking about books and authors.

Haven’t read anything lately and need a boost to start reading again? Or feel uncomfortable about giving a “Book Report”? Tuesday night at Larabee is where you need to be. We just have conversations about books and a fun relaxing time. Stop in this week and I can help you find a good book to get started on. It doesn’t have to be finished before Recently Read or just come and get inspired to read.

The Building Committee has been busy reseeding parts of the lawn and watering the new plants. We have new basement windows on the north side of the building, all the windows in the library have now been restored by Hoefer Stained Glass, and the flagpole in memory of Tim Dye has been delivered and will be installed in the near future. Thanks to all the people who make these great things happen at Nora’s Place.

We will be swimming in the Ocean again with Summer Reading. One of the books we will be reading is “Manfish,”  a book about Jacques Cousteau, the “Champion of the Oceans.” Sandy will have a great craft and we will be using our imaginations.

We have a “Color Our World” poster to color with colored pencils.

Come sit a spell in the cool and help us color our world map. Australia and New Zealand are all we have done so far. Bring a friend and relax with coloring. We also have a chess board or you can choose from many new puzzles and start a puzzle table. Things for all ages at Larabee Library.

Great newspaper clippings of the 1937 football team were sent to us by Herman Dickson’s daughter Vickie. We had a season beyond belief that year, including playing and trouncing a team from Chicago! Come to our Aug. 1 First Friday and hear about all the wonderful football memories that our football teams have given us. Celebrate Everything Stafford Football! Supper will be provided Free by the First Friday Committee.
