Art Alley returns to Final Friday
alley mural art

This month’s Final Friday on Forest will feature the annual “Art Alley,” sponsored by the Barton Arts Movement (BAM). Artists will display their work in the alley and the best artist will be awarded a Bammy that night. BAM will also do a little fundraising for the next community mural, said Lee Ann June, communications director for Great Bend Economic Development.

Final Fridays on Forest takes place from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, June 28, on the block of Forest Ave. that extends from Main Street to Williams Street. The street is transformed into the Great Bend Alive Plaza, closing to vehicular traffic at 1 p.m.

Free, family-friendly outdoor entertainment this month will include live music by Lightfoot & Buehler. Seating and restrooms are available, with food and alcohol vendors.

Admission is free, thanks to this month’s sponsor, the University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. Free facepainting will be available from 5-8 p.m., provided by the University of Kansas Health System.
