STAFFORD — We have a great family event this week April 9 from 2:30-6 p.m., come and go. Play with your child ages 0-5 and discover how they are developing. Complete the Ages and Stages questionnaires. Leave with a Help Me Grow Kansas goodie bag, free tools, and resources to support healthy development.

Larabee Library is proud to have the resources available to help our young families. The educational toys, play space and books are available because of gifts from the community, SCKLS, South Central Community Foundation and Golden Belt Community Foundation. Thank you all!

Please come Thursday and take advantage of this free service for your family.

April 16 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. is another opportunity to help young families. Stafford Economic Development is hosting a meeting here at the library to provide information on how to prepare to be a sub for local day cares. Day care is a need in this community and is an important career path. Come to the library to get the information you need.

Sandy is busy making dinosaurs and habitat for our Summer Reading program starting June 8. “Unearth a Story” will be a fun time with stories, videos, and crafts. We are again partnering with the Stafford Rec Center in providing educational experiences for our youth during summer break.

This week will be our April board meeting with an election of officers. We always meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. It is open to the public. The board has done an outstanding job working on beautifying the building and providing what is needed to help the Larabee Library grow and serve the community.
